• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
• Learning data. Vocabulary lists, study progress, quiz results, and related activity you create while using the app.
• Uploaded materials. Files you upload (such as PDFs, images, or documents) and text extracted from them to build your personal vocabulary.
• Payment information. If you subscribe, billing is handled by Stripe. We store your subscription status and Stripe customer ID, not your full card details.
• Usage and technical data. Basic logs such as browser type, device information, and error reports to keep the service running reliably.

How we use your information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the app and your learning experience.
• Process uploaded materials and generate vocabulary suggestions using automated tools.
• Manage subscriptions and communicate about billing when needed.
• Respond to support requests and protect against abuse or security issues.

Third-party services

We use trusted providers to run Lusófono. They process data only as needed to provide their services:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
• Google — sign-in
• Stripe — subscription payments
• AI and language-processing providers — enrichment and analysis of uploaded content

These providers have their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data retention

We keep your account and learning data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or billing purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data
• Export your vocabulary and related learning data
• Withdraw consent or object to certain processing
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and support core app functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

Children

Lusófono is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
